Each registered construction worker will be issued a registration smart card with a normal validity of three years. The worker's portrait, registered categories, and validity period etc. will be printed on the registration card. Electronic data relevant to the registration will be stored in the chip embedded inside the card. Starting from 1 September 2007, a construction worker should produce his/her registration card when entering a construction site. Information contained in the card will normally be verified by a card reading system before one is allowed to carry out construction work on a construction site.

Attention: Workers are still required to hold/present other necessary certificates as required by relevant Ordinances in order to carry out construction work on construction sites, except the following: 1. workers opting for aligning the expiry date of the Construction Workers Registration Card and that of the Green Card.
